Bottle Service at a Home Party

Posted by | Blog | No Comments

Many people think of a fun night out at their favorite nightclub or bar when they think about bottle service. However, you can actually pull off the concept at home without too much difficulty. You’re probably aren’t going to hire a staff of people to serve bottles to you and your dinner guests. But, it will be much less expensive and you won’t need to worry about having a sober cab or hiring a driver since you’re already at home. However conversely, bottle service at home is a bit of a hassle to setup. So, you probably want to reserve it for special occasions. Here are a few times when having bottle service at home is something worth considering.

Dinner Party

If you’re having a dinner party for you and your friends, offering a form of bottle service at home can be very elegant. Simply find out what everyone drinks, and run to your local liquor store in advance to get stocked up. Just have the bottles waiting at the dinner table along with a good selection of mixers. Unfortunately, it isn’t quite as luxurious as having a server bring the bottles out to your guests. However, you can duplicate most of that effect by preparing ahead of time. Adding a few champagne sparklers can really dress things up!

Holiday parties are another time when having bottle service at home is a great choice. Especially since you can usually just buy champagne to do the job. Champagne is the celebration drink of choice, so it is perfect for toasts on major holidays like Christmas, New Year’s, and Thanksgiving. On top of that, everyone will be drinking the same thing. So, you can buy by the case at a wholesale liquor store and reduce your cost greatly. Just place some throughout your home in ice buckets so your guests are never too far from a refill. Add a few champagne sparklers and you’re all set to go!

Special Events

Special events such as weddings, birthdays, or anniversaries are probably the time when offering your guests bottle service makes the most sense. Since the event is so special, chances are that you’re willing to spend a little more money on the party. You can consider hiring a server for your event to walk around filling up people’s glasses with their drink of choice, or you could even consider hiring a reliable bartender to make drinks on demand. There will obviously be some upfront costs with buying the supplies and liquor for the bartender. But, it will make the event even more special and will still be cheaper than a night out at your favorite bar or nightclub.

Safety Concerns When Offering Bottle Service at Home

Whenever you’re considering having bottle service at home for a party or event, safety should be the primary concern. Many bars and nightclubs are able to do things that you can’t because of the size of their space. This includes attaching bottle sparklers to each offering before it’s delivered to the guests. However, this isn’t always a good idea inside of a house because of the low ceilings, cramped quarters, and random obstacles that are located throughout most homes. However, an inexpensive solution like our color LED bottle sparklers can be a safe alternative.

Additionally, many of your house guests will likely get impaired if they are drinking large amounts of alcohol. Obviously, letting them drive home is probably a bad choice. You need to either make sure there are accommodations for your guests at your home or arrange transportation for them at the end of the night. There are a lot of things to consider when planning to have bottle service at home. However, if you plan ahead and make sure you take the proper safety precautions, it can be a fun time that is much less expensive than a night on the town.

Preparing Your Bar for the Holidays

Though winter is usually one of the busier times for the bar and nightclub industry, at least until February rolls around, you won’t be drumming up the big crowds if you don’t embrace the holiday spirit. When patrons head out for libations at their favorite bar of nightclub, they want the look and feel of the establishment to reflect what time of year it happens to be. After Halloween comes and goes, the true holiday season will be upon you and it is very wise to prepare your bar for the upcoming holiday season.

Most bar and nightclub owners know that the night before Thanksgiving marks the start of the holiday selling period. Not only is the night before Thanksgiving one of the busiest bar nights of the year, but is also your chance to win over customers to come in for their Christmas and New Year’s Eve celebrations. There are several key things to consider when preparing your bar for the holidays, so let’s take a look at some of the most important aspects so you can bring in as much revenue as possible during this season.

Holiday Decorations

One of the most important aspects of making your bar or nightclub look and feel like it is appropriately set up for the holidays are the decorations. When decorating your bar or nightclub, it is important to remember that you don’t want to be too subtle but you also don’t want to overdo it. For Thanksgiving, you’ll want to put up some fall colors and things representing the harvest such as leaves or pumpkins. What you don’t need to do is put little turkeys at ever spot along your bar rail because your guests just want a hint of autumn; not to be inundated with it.

For Christmas, consider lining the edges of your bar with some Christmas lights and some green garland. You should also consider hanging a few Christmas wreaths around the bar in places such as the bathroom doors and the main entrances. If you want to put up a Christmas tree, that’s okay too; just make sure you don’t put them all throughout your establishment because you can easily overdo it with too many lights and possible obstructions in your normal routines.

Lastly, you should think about changing it up a bit for your New Year’s Eve celebration. The easiest way to do this is to simply remove the Christmas trees and wreaths and swap the green garland for something a little more fun like silver tinsel. You want the holiday feel to still remain and embrace the concept that its winter, but you want to separate the decorations from Christmas as much as possible. You should also consider a free champagne toast at midnight and advertise it starting the week of Christmas because this can really pack your seats on New Year’s Eve.

Special Brews

Just like other times of the year, the holidays have all sorts of great craft beers that come out for a limited time. Make sure that you have a good selection of seasonal beers because many of your customers will be searching for some. You don’t want to eliminate your most popular beers on tap, but adding a few special brews can really round out your customers’ experiences.

Holiday Cocktails

Like special brews, there are many holiday cocktails that are very popular. You will certainly see a rise in drinks like Kahlua and coffee, brown liquors like brandy, and Christmas-specific drinks like egg nog or Tom and Jerry batter. Make sure you stay on the forefront of demand and make special table tents to advertise these high margin drinks over the holidays.
